In times like these, it is a blessing to see so many youth gathered in Jesus’ name. However, the most amazing part of writing this brief message is the foundation that inspires the message – the purpose.
My goal is to equip, prepare, and encourage you to “walk worthy of the calling wherewith you are called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
Understanding our purpose guides us to attain our goal. Our purpose in the music ministry is to assist in setting the atmosphere for the anointing to destroy yokes and remove burdens during worship service. Contrary to belief, our purpose is not to make one feel good or impress with the sounds of our music and voices.
My objective is that we render pure praise at all times. Pure praise invites the Holy Spirit to enter in our presence. Once the praise is pleasing unto the Lord, then He invites us to enter into an intimate time with Him called “worship.” Remember, in order for us to worship, our praise must be pure. For John 4:24 states, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” In doing so, I believe hearts will be mended, the sick will be healed, those that are in bondage will be liberated, and the unsaved will cry out asking, “What must I do to be saved?” As you can see, our purpose driven life as a member of the Youth Ministry is a serious calling…one that should not be taken lightly.
Throughout workshop sessions it is my belief that manifestations of the teachings will be exhibited in the actions of our youth.
God is preparing an end-time army, and we have all been called for a specific task. There’s no time to waste because He is able to supply all of our ministry needs! I encourage all of you to remain steadfast and immovable in the faith that God has so graciously given each of you.
God Bless!
